I am a professional opera singer with over 40 years experience singing with English National Opera, New Sadlers Wells Opera, The English Music Theatre Company, The English Opera Group, Scottish Opera, Opera North, The Royal Opera House and London City Opera. I have toured throughout the UK, Europe and America and I "died" at a matinee on a grey November Thursday in 1987 at The Sunderland Empire. I have specialised in the lighter comedy roles in opera and operetta. I played Ko Ko in The Mikado in the West End and for New Sadlers Wells Opera and also recorded the piece for BBC Radio 2. I have been the guest soloist on Friday Night is Music Night and Melodies for you with Richard Baker and David Jacobs also for BBC Radio 2.
Touring is a tiresome business and the counterfeit Louis Vuitton luggage is showing signs of wear and tear. Over the past few years I have been concentrating on using my speaking voice in order to pay for the odd week end in Bridlington. I have voiced many corporate and in house videos and promotions plus several commercials and I am still getting repeat fees for something I voiced for the BBC on "The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy" several years ago! I broadcast regularly on BBC local Radio.
